Schapelle Corby & The Macquarie Bank Connection

Letter to the Editor . . . (97 words)

"The day Schapelle flew, the day every frame of Australian CCTV “Vanished,” the owners of Sydney Airport, Macquarie Bank, were involved, knowingly or not, in smuggling cocaine through their real estate, via the same crew that handled Schapelle’s bags. Robert Chalmers, a former Macquarie director, is serving 12 years for his involvement in that syndicate. I guess an “Innocent” Schapelle would have put Macquarie firmly in the public spotlight. Perhaps they breathed a sigh of relief when all film of that day evaporated, even though this young Australian woman, with no previous criminal record, begged for it."
