I note the first point of your "Statement of Principles" . . .
"Publications should take reasonable steps to ensure reports are accurate, fair and balanced. They should not deliberately mislead or misinform readers either by omission or commission."
So I'm now putting in a formal complaint about this very recent Channel 10 broadcast , re their key failure to include major, salient facts in that broadcast, namely the criminal scum they gave a public platform to . . .
2. Was involved in importing 200 kilos of cocaine into Australia, via the bags of innocent airline passengers on the exact day Schapelle flew.
3. Was paid $800,000 by the NSW Crime Commission (and allowed to keep $750,000 of his criminal earnings), when he threatened to blow the whistle on corrupt police.
Obviously, these are key facts, as "Tom" publicly sings the praises of the system that so richly rewarded his gross criminality - and it casts a very long shadow on his assertions. In its blatant failure to include that vital information, I believe Channel 10 is deliberately misleading the Australian public - and the broadcaster should be called to account (to correct those glaring omissions), ASAP.
PS - and Channel 10's viewers have been (and will continue to be), informed via their Facebook page.
PPS - and here is a complaint submitted directly to Channel 10
